No. On a day to day basis it requires zero maintenance. Salt levels need to be checked every month, when the main unit reminds you to do so.  Salt will need replacing every 3 – 6 months at the cost of a few pounds per bag. The unit will also require an annual check to update the operating system and check the component parts. That’s it!
